Audi C5 A6 Front Seat WiringLast Updated: 09/24/2017 | | Parts Group: Seat assembly | We’re comparing the seat wiring on two of our 2000 Audi A6 Quattro 4.2 V8 cars with the wiring of a seat we bought off a 2002 Audi A6 Quattro 2.7 Turbo car. The initial premise was to replace the cosmetically sad but highly functional passenger seat in the 2000 car with the pretty passenger seat from the 2002 car, but we noticed that the 2000 car has more plug connections than the 2002 car (specifically, the green plug) and so we started to investigate. We concluded:
- The red plug provides seat power (positive and negative, both) - The brown plug is for seat memory - The green plug is for seat heating - The yellow plug is for the airbag system - The black plug is for occupancy sensing
I live in northern Nevada and winter is coming, so I'm not all that keen on getting rid of seat heater functionality on my 2000 car.
