This article discusses the cup holder on Audi C5 A6 cars, specifically removal and replacement.
If you're not here for the technical analysis but would rather buy a used unit from us ... then please select the link below.We have seven Audi C5 A6 Quattro 4.2 V8 project cars, and as far as I know, only two of them have working cup-holders in the center console.
If you plan to replace yours, we do sell good used units though they’re not cheap (supply and demand).
To remove the part, you don’t have to remove the center console. The front of the part has two plastic clips that keep the part in place. My tech has shown me that she can open the cup-holder and then vertically insert a medium-sized flat-blade screwdriver that she uses to push in these clips, while she gently pulls the cup-holder up and away from the center console, until the clips spring free. After that, she can pull the cup-holder vertically up and out of the center console.
Installing a replacement unit is as simple as pushing it vertically downward until it clicks into place.
