Audi C5 A6 Anti-roll Bar Connecting Link Installation

Last Updated: 11/17/2018

Parts Group: Anti-roll bar connecting link
This article discusses the C-shaped link that connects the end of the anti-roll bar to the lower control arm. If you're not here for the technical analysis but would rather buy a used unit from us, then please select one of the links below. There are many ways to install this part incorrectly and only one way to install it correctly.

The left and right sides are NOT interchangeable.

The bottom of the part connects to the anti-roll bar; the top connects to the lower control arm.

At the bottom, the bolt head goes outboard; the nut goes inboard. At the top, the bolt head goes inboard; the nut goes outboard.

The part goes behind the lower control arm, not in front.

The part goes outboard of the connection on the lower control arm.

If the lower control arm you bought comes with a retaining clip, that's used for pre-2000 cars only and it should be removed for 2000-and-on cars.

One of the sections bulges out more than the rest; that section goes at the bottom and inboard.

The bolt is Audi part number N104 253 02. The nut is Audi part number N103 320 01. These are the same bolt and nut, respectively, at the top and the bottom of the link -- and as used elsewhere to attach the inboard portion of each upper control arm.
